By: Sheikh M Khurasani

TEHRAN, Iran: The 15th International Holy Quran Exhibition was inaugurated at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla on the eve of Ramadan, September 13.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Mohammad-Hossein Saffar Harandi said that the event provides an opportunity for people to become acquainted with the latest scientific research and other activities focusing on the Holy Quran.

The theme of this year’s exhibit is “Quranic Life, Islamic Solidarity” and several changes have been made to the event compared with previous years’ editions.

This year the section devoted to young adults has been omitted, but instead, every section of the program will have a part dedicated to youth. The children’s section is totally separate.

The books on display in the exhibition are not for sale, but a separate bookshop has been set up which is selling religious and Quranic works at a 35% discount.

An exhibition featuring the lives of the holy prophets has been set up on the side lines of the event.

Overall, 30 Quran exhibits are scheduled to be held in 30 different Iranian cities during the month of Ramadan.
