Imam Moussa As-Sadr live, jailed in South Libya: Libyan opponent

OSLO, Norway: An opponent the rule of Libyan President Moammar Al-Qadhafi
said while talking to Al-Arabiya.net that abducted Ayaytullah Al-Imam
Moussa As-Sadr, renowned Lebanese leader and head of Amal Movement, is
still live and is imprisoned in a jail in South Libya.
In a telephonic talk with the Arabiya from his recent headquarters in
Oslo, Norwegian capital, Issa Abdul-Majid Mansour, founder of Jabha
Inqaaz Qabael At-Tabo, said the Shia leader about whom Libyan
government says that he had left Libya for Italy while his family and
the Lebanese government are of the opinion that he did not leave is
surviving and was seen in 1992 in a jail in the city of Sabha in
southern Lebanon.
“As-Sadr live and these words are authentic,” said Abdul-Majid Mansour.
“Our sources are reliable and we have presented a memorandum demanding
Col. Qadhafi to release As-Sadr and a judge of Chad Yousaf Toghimi who
also heads al-haraqa min ajlil adalah wad dimiqaratiyah whom Qadhafi
declared dead.”
Issa said he has confirmed and 100 percent sound information regarding
the place where Moussa As-Sadr and two of his companions Sheikh
Muhammad Yaqoub and Abbas Badreddin are present as well as names of
officials of these prisons.
He will disclose all these information in a proper time if Libya does
not release the abducted persons.
As-Sadr along with his two companions reached Libya on 25 August 1978
on the Libyan government invitation. They stayed in Fondaq Ash-Shati
in Libyan capital city. They were last seen on 30 August 1978.
Once, the As-Sadr family had disclosed that Qadhafi had asked for an
amount to open the file of this case. Sadreddin As-Sadr, the elder son
of As-Sadr, told that the family refused to pay the amount.
