LONDON, United Kingdom: Arrangements for the 27th annual Arbaeen (Chelum) Procession of Imam Husain (AS) have been given final shape.

The procession will be held Inshallah on Sunday 2nd March 2008 (23rd Safar 1429) at 12:15 p.m. at Marble Arch, Central London, commencing with Zuhrain Namaz-e-Jamat.

Then there shall be Majalis (speeches) in English, Urdu, Arabic and Farsi (Persian), followed by a matami procession along Park Lane commencing at 1:30pm . This event has been organized by the Hussaini Islamic Trust UK.

The Trust was formed in 1982 with the encouragement of Sayed Mahdi Al-Hakeem (Shaheed), son of Late Grand Ayatullah Sayed Mohsin Al-Hakeem.

It founded the very first annual Muslim Jaloos (Procession) in Central London and the very first Arbaeen/Chelum Jaloos of Imam Husain (A.S) in the western world (USA & Europe).

The Procession is held every year on the nearest Sunday to Arbaeen at Marble Arch, London. It attracts up to 5000 men, women and children from all ethnic backgrounds (Pakistan, India, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Kuwait, Bahrain, etc)

The Trust has commissioned two large Shabbihs (replicas) of the shrines of Imam Hussain (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS) which will accompany the mourning procession.

After the recitation of Ziyarat Arbaeen (4pm), Khakh-e-Shafa Sajdigahs, Dua-e-Faraj will be distributed and Refreshments will be served.
