BANGKOK, Thailand: In the 100 year history of Azadari in
Bangkok, Ashura procession (Jaloos) was taken out for the first time
on the 26th of January 2008 to pay homage to Imam Hussain (a.s.) and
the martyrs of Karbala.
This historical event was organized by the organizing committee of
Imambargah Sahib-uz-Zaman (Bangkok) and mourners from India, Pakistan,
Thailand, Iran, Iraq and other Middle Eastern countries gathered to
commemorate the great sacrifice of Imam Hussain (a.s.) and the martyrs
of Karbala.






Shabeeh-e-Zuljanah and Alam were taken out on the roads
of Bangkok City for the first time. The procession started from the
Surawongse Road and passing through the Mahesak road and adjacent
streets, terminated at the same Imambargah Sahib-uz-Zaman in about 3
hours.
Majalis in Urdu and Thai language were recited by ulemas from India
and Thailand and Nohas were recited in Urdu, Hindi, Persian and Thai
languages by native reciters.










Most interesting aspect of the event was that the Thai
reciters recited Nohas in Urdu and Persian language as well.
