KABUL, Afghanistan: Peace be on you O Imam Abi Abdillah Al-Hosain … To pay homage to the great sacrifice rendered by Hazret Imam Hosain (a.s.) along with his 72 faithful companions in the burning desert of Karbala some 14 centuries ago for defense of religion and safety of high human values, chain of majalis and processions is continued throughout Afghanistan.

On January 15, a grand mourning procession was taken out in Kabul attended by thousands of Hosaini mourners – men, women and children.

The mourners were chanting ‘wa Hosaina, wa Hosaina’.

Later, zanjeer-zeni was performed causing blood to come out to pay homage to the matchless sacrifice of chief of martyrs Hazret Imam Hosain (a.s.), grandson of the Prophet Mohammad (s.v.v.).
