Kolkata’s 150-year-old Sartaukh procession mourns Imam Sajjad (A)

KOLKATA, India: This shabi is taken out in Kolkata for the last 150
years, in remembrance of taukh and zanjeers which was put on Hazrat
Imam-Zainul-Abedin (a.s) or the sword of Imam-Ali-ibne-Abitalib (a.s).
This shabi is very heavy in weight.
The main sartaukh processions are taken out from imambargah haji
karbalaie (bada imambara), masjid-e-basravi (basravi masjid) and from
imambargah-e jatishah on 5, 7, 8 and 10th Muharram here in Kolkata
which is very famous all over India.
