HOLY CITY OF NAJAF, Iraq: Al-Marje Ad-Dini Sheikh Muhammad Ishaq Al-Fayadh, one of the four Maraje of Holy Najaf, said Mahdaviyah claims that have appeared in Iraq are false, poor and shameful in a country such as Iraq, and the claimers are liars.

In a statement on Tuesday, he called for denial of such claims because the claimers have strayed from the religion and their target is to make money and sow sedition among the people.

He called on the government to bury any dissension on the spot before its spread.

His fatwa or verdict came after some groups in Basra and Dyala claimed they have met with Al-Imam Al-Hojjah l-Mahdi (AS), the last infallible descendant of Prophet Muhammad (S).
