HOLY CITY OF NAJAF, Iraq: Al-Maraje Ad-Dini in the holy city of Najaf namely Ayatullah Sayyed Ali Al-Husseini As-Sistani, Ayatullah Sheikh Ishaq Al-Fayadh, Ayatullah Sayyed Muhammad Said Al-Hakim and Ayatullah Sheikh Hafiz Bashir An-Najafi have called on all to keep Husseini Sha’a’er (Majalis, processions, matam, elegy-recitation, tatbeer etc) far from political objectives.

In their separate messages to the eleventh annual conference of preachers that was held in the holy city of Najaf on Thursday January 3, the Maraje warned that no body should take tragedy of Karbala as a source to achieve political or materialistic aims.

The conference was attended by Sayyed Abdul Aziz Al-Hakim, a number of Maraje deputies, thinkers, intellectuals and scholars from Hoza Al-Ilmiyah.

The Maraje urged the preachers to make people known the importance and significance of reviving the tragedy of Karbala in protecting and revitalizing the religion.
