Foreign, Arab mourners begin flocking to Karbala

HOLY CITY OF KARBALA, Iraq: Arab and foreign mourning
devotees have begun arriving in the holy city of Karbala to observe
Sha’a’ir Al-Imam Al-Hussein (AS) i.e. majales al-azaiyah, tatbeer,
ma’tam, marathi etc during the first ten days of Moharram.
Chief of the religious tourism committee in Karbala governorate
council Sheikh Abdulhasan Al-Forati said three buses with Tanzanian
pilgrims have reached during the first week of January.
Three hotels in the holy city have been booked for
Arba’in (40 days after the martyrdom of Al-Imam Al-Hussein)
commemoration by Bahraini mourners while caravans of Lebanese mourners
are about to reach the city.
