‘Islamic world faces challenges from some Muslims extremism’

By: Abdulali

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia: King of Saudi Arabia Abdullah said Islam must do away with the dangers of extremism and present the religion's positive messages.

He made his remarks last week as he opened in the holy city of Makkah a three-day conference of Muslim figures aimed at launching a dialogue with Christians and Jews.

"You have gathered today to tell the whole world that ... we are a voice of justice and values and humanity, that we are a voice of coexistence, and a just and rational dialogue," Abdullah told the 500 Muslim delegates from 50 Muslim nations.

He said the Islamic world faces difficult challenges from the extremism of some Muslims, whose aggressions "target the magnanimity, fairness and lofty aims of Islam."

That's why the conference invitation was extended, he said -- "to face the challenges of isolation, ignorance and narrow horizons, so that the world can absorb the good message of Islam."

"Knowledge is better than wealth because it protects you while you have to guard wealth. it decreases if you keep on spending it but the more you make use of knowledge ,the more it increases . what you get through wealth disappears as soon as wealth disappears but what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you."MORE ..
