Festival on Motahhari philosophy culminates

TEHRAN, Iran: The second festival on philosophy of martyr Murtaza
Motahhari concluded in Tehran.
Murtaza Motahhari, born on February 2, 1920, near holy city of
Mashhad, is one of the principal architects of the new Islamic
consciousness in Iran. He ranks among one of the most dynamic and
effective scholars of recent times. He studied Fiqh, Usool, Tafsir and
Islamic philosophy. He studied in holy city of Qum from 1944 until his
departure for Tehran in 1952. In Qum he was among the prime disciples
of Allama Tabatabai and Imam Khomeini.
The particular school of philosophy to which Motahhari adhered was
that of Mulla Sadra which is a theosophy called "sublime philosophy".
