HOLY CITY OF NAJAF, Iraq: Al-Marje Al-Aala Ayatullah Sayyed Ali Al-Husseini
As-Sistani has insisted that the security pact being negotiated with
Washington must not harm Iraq's sovereignty.
This was remarked in a statement issued from his office in the holy
city of Najaf, south of Baghdad, on Wednesday.
"Ayatullah Ali As-Sistani insists that the sovereignty of Iraq not be
touched and he is closely following developments until the final
accord has been clarified.”
On Tuesday, the Iraqi cabinet authorized Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki
to negotiate changes in the security pact with Washington that sets a
timetable for the withdrawal of US forces.
But the White House has said it was wary of making any changes after
months of complex negotiations.
Several Iraqi leaders have opposed the pact.

"Knowledge is
better than wealth because it protects you while you have to
guard wealth. it decreases if you keep on spending it but the
more you make use of knowledge ,the more it increases . what you
get through wealth disappears as soon as wealth disappears but
what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you."MORE
