Al-Marje Al-Aala Sayed Ash-Shirazi honoured in Bahrain

SANAD, Bahrain: Seventh anniversary of death of Al-Marje Al-Aala Sayed Muhammad Al-Husseini Ash-Shirazi was observed in Bahrain.

Marking the occasion, mourning ceremonies were held across the country.

A memorial ceremony titled “Al-Imam Ash-Shirazi School of Knowledge and Jihad” was organized at Ma’atam Abol Fadhl Al-Abbas in the town of Sanad on October 9 Thursday.

Late Grand Ayatullah Ash-Shirazi, born in 1347 AH (1928) in the holy city of Najaf, migrated to holy Karbala along with his father while he was 9. He got religious knowledge from a number of Maraje Kibar in Karbala Hauzah until he reached to the level of Ijtihad. He taught for more than 40 years in holy Karbala, Kuwait, holy Qom and holy Mash’had. Until the year 1416 AH, more than 500 ulema attended his classes. He wrote over 1,000 books; most famous of these is ‘Al-Fiqh’ which consists of 150 volumes.
