‘Al-Baqee Cemetery Demolition Day’ observed in New York

BROOKLYN, New York: A majlis-e-aza to commemorate the Day
of Inhidaam-e-Jannatul Baqee (Day of Demolition of Al-Baqee Cemetery)
was held on October 5th, at 7:00 PM at Al- Mahdi Center Brooklyn in
New York.
A large number of mourners attended the majlis which was addressed by
Maulana Sakhawat Hussain, Maulana Tilmiz Rizvi, Maulana Ali Haider
Abidi and Maulana Imran Bokhari.
Following the majlis-e-aza, dinner was served. Hussaini Qalandri
Matami Dasta delivered elegies.
Al-Baqee Cemetery, housed in the holy city of Medinah, Saudi Arabia,
was razed to ground on Shawal 8 in 1925 at the hands of the then Saudi
rulers sending wave of anger throughout the Islamic world.
