Qur'an in 107 languages on show

By: Mohamed Ali

ONTARIO, Canada: Translations of the holy Quran in 107 world languages are on display at the Qur'an translation section of the ongoing 16th International Qur'an Exhibition being held in Tehran.

Director of the section Naqdi said that those interested can read the Qur'an in any language they like.

Stating that efforts are underway to promote translation of the holy book in various languages, Naqdi said that in addition to the biography of translators, their photos and ways of life are also featured in the section.

According to him, critiques on works based on the holy Qur'an have been compiled from all the websites and are available for enthusiasts.

Listing information about Qur'an translations worldwide, compiling linguistic encyclopedia as well as launching a website featuring Qur'an translations are among the measures taken by the section, Naqdi said, adding that promoting translation of the holy book in foreign languages tops the entity's agenda.

The 16th International Quran Exhibition, opened on August 29, will continue until September 27.
