Iran welcomes Ramadan with Quran exhibition

TEHRAN, Iran: The 16th International Holy Quran Exhibition opened at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla Friday evening, few days before the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.

A group of cultural and religious figures including Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad-Hossein Saffar Harandi as well as the former judiciary chief Ayatollah Mohammad Yazdi attended the opening ceremony.

A major part of the exhibit has showcased copies of translations of the Holy Quran in several languages, Quranic artworks, research works on the Quran, as well as children’s Quranic products.

Also included are the two new sections of the 30th anniversary of the “Victory of the Islamic Revolution” and “Family”.

On the side section of the exhibit, the best student theses and publications are displayed and will be given awards later.

Several sessions on Quranic research with the participation of Iranian and Egyptian Quran reciters are also among the other programs of the exhibit during the month-long event.

Many Quranic software products are also on exhibit. Those judged best will be selected for later purchase and then donated to institution involved in Quranic research and activities.
