Qaddafi urged to reveal details of missing As-Sadr

By: Karim Tellawi

BEIRUIT, Lebanon: Lebanon has urged Libyan leader Mummar Qaddafi to reveal everything that is in his knowledge about the 1978 disappearance of Shia cleric Imam Moussa as-Sadr, who went missing along with two associates during an official visit to Libya some 30 years ago.

As-Sadr founded Amal in 1975, the first major resistance and political force for Lebanon's Shias.

"We tell the leader of the Libyan regime Mummar Qaddafi: you are personally responsible for the disappearance of Imam Moussa Sadr," the Lebanon's Parliament Speaker and the current leader of the Amal movement, Nabih Berri, said this weekend in a speech to the people in the southern town of Nabatiyeh.

"Let no-one think that we will forget or make any compromise," he added.

The appeal came as several thousand participants joined a rally in the Lebanon to mark the 30th year of the incident.

"Knowledge is better than wealth because it protects you while you have to guard wealth. it decreases if you keep on spending it but the more you make use of knowledge ,the more it increases . what you get through wealth disappears as soon as wealth disappears but what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you."MORE ..
