Saudi high official denies bigotry among citizens

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia’s Minister for Interior Affairs Prince Nayef bin Abdul Aziz has rejected existence of any official discrimination among Saudi citizens.

In a meeting on Sunday with a delegation of Shiite elite and dignitaries of Al-Qatif, Nayef said: All citizens of the kingdom “have similar rights and similar duties.”

The delegation, consisted of 20 people, was headed by former justice for Jafariyah Court in Al-Qatif Sheikh Abdullah Al-Khonezi.

Member of Shura Council Muhammad Redha Nasrallah, Said Sheikh, Sheikh Jafer Ar-Ribh, business Redha Al-Madloh were among the delegation.

The statement of the prince came after several attacks by Saudi religious police against Shiite pilgrims in Al-Baqee and Prophet (s) shrine.
