(equivalent to 26/12/2009).

From 1st to 10th days of Muharram lectures were delivered and elegies to mourn the barbaric massacre of the holy Prophet Muhammad progeny in Karbala were recited, while on the 10th day the members of the Islamic movement march to the main roads and street of their town to mourn the event of Ashura and extend its message to the Ummah.

The mourning sessions and the processions took place in more than hundred cities across Nigeria, like Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Jos, Sokoto, Abuja, Lagos, Potiskum, Talata Mafara, Bauchi etc.

In Zaria city the centre of the Islamic Movement, Sayyid Zakzaky continued the narration of the story of Karbala which he has already started in the previous mourning sessions.

At the end of his lecture, Sayyid Zakzaky pointed out some secret or lessons to be learnt from the tragedy of Ashura day, this include that the sacrifice of Imam Hussein (AS), his family and companions will never be forgotten or reduce. He also mentioned that the revolution of Imam Hussein (AS) increases his love in the heart of the believers and make them ready to sacrifice their life to save Islam as he did despite any intimidation, threat, brutality or killings as we are seeing in Karbala.
