American Muslims observe Chehlum of Imam Hosein (AS)

NEW YORK, United States: Chehlum (Arbaeen or the fortieth day after
the martyrdom of Hazret Imam Hosein (AS)) was observed in the United
States of America on February 15.
In New York, to mark the occasion a mourning Hoseini procession was
taken out. Different associations including Anjuman-e-Janisar (NY),
Anjuman-e-Ghulaman-e-Mehdi (brooklyn, ny), Dua-e-Zehra (Va), Jawad
Naqvi (Va), and Siphe Ali Akber (NJ) participated in matam-daari
(chest beating in grief of Imam Hosein (AS)) and noha-khwani (elegy
chanting).
At the end of the procession, a majlis was held addressed by
Maulana Professor Abdul Hakeem BuTurabi.
