Qom Ayat seeks answers on insults against Saudi Shiites

HOLY QOM, Iran: Iran’s Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi
has asked in a message issued on Wednesday the Iranian Foreign
Ministry and Muslims all over the world to launch investigation into
insults against Saudi Shiites by “extremist Wahhabi” security forces.
The statement by Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi followed reports of
violence on Friday, Monday and Tuesday by religious police against
Shiites at the al-Baqee Cemetery in Medina.
Hundreds of Shiites held protests on Tuesday near the city of Qatif in
Eastern Province to protest police’s behavior toward pilgrims.
