Saudi authorities ban Majalis Al-Husseini in Al-Ahsaa

By: Abdulali

AL-QATIF, Saudi Arabia: Saudi powers that be have barred a number of Majalis Al-Azaiya being held at hoseiniyat, mosques and houses in Al-Ahsaa in commemoration of martyrdom of Al-Imam Al-Hussein (AS) who rendered that sacrifice for religion, shariah and humanity which is great and matchless.

According to residents the authorities called the founders of these Husseini majalis and forced them to sign written promises regarding this after engaging them in investigation.

Learned sources blamed governor of the province Badar bin Jalwi for personally supervising the sectarian campaign that is not new.

Majlis sadatol Ali in Ad-Dalwah town and husseiniyah in Al-Bataliyah town have been sealed.

Last Thursday, electricity of As-Sibtayn mosque in Al-Malik Fahd area was cut-down. Earlier in 2007, electricity of a number of other mosques including Al-Montadhar mosque in Al-Mabraz city was cut down which was restored after months following interference by Saudi human rights association.
