ROME, Italy: Rajab 13 is that auspicious and blessed day when
Al-Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (peace be on him), Prophet Muhammad (peace
be on him and his holy progeny)'s first infallible successor,
son-in-law and paternal cousin, was born in Ka'abah (house of Allah)
in the holy city of Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Ka'abah is the holiest site where Muslims from across the globe
gather every year to perform Hajj.
Rajab 13 falls this year on July 6 in some countries while in some
other parts it comes on July 7.

Marking the happy occasion, celebrations – festivals, galas,
banquets, mahafil-e-milad, conferences, seminars and feasts that began
with the advent of Rajab have reached on peak on Rajab 13.

Holy shrines, husseiniyahs, imambargahs, mosques, streets and
buildings have been beautifully decorated with colorful buntings,
shiny balloons, fresh flowers and bright lights. Desserts and special
foods have been cooked in giant pots to serve the guests of Al-Imam
Ali (peace be on him).
