Iran refutes instigating turmoil in Yemen
By: Darwesh Turk
PARIS, France: Iran denied Tehran is triggering unrest in
Yemen and offered to take on a mediator role to help end fighting
between the Yemeni government and Houthis.
An Iranian state-run broadcaster Press TV cited Defence Minister
Ahmad Vahidi as saying: “Iran’s Foreign Ministry in its contacts
with the Yemeni government has always voiced the country’s readiness
to present an initiative necessary for ending the conflict.”
“We believe that the issue does not have a military solution,”
Vahidi said, adding that Iran isn’t involved in Yemen’s internal
politics and doesn’t support Shiite militants in Yemen. “Such
reports are baseless and aimed at inciting discord between the
countries of the region.”
According to Yemen’s navy it seized an Iranian-crewed ship loaded
with weapons on Oct. 26 near an area of its Red Sea coast where the
Houthis have a stronghold.
The ship was carrying Iranian weapons specialists, the Saudi-owned
al-Arabiya television channel said, without saying where it obtained
the information.
The government of Yemen accused Iran of “funding and backing the
Houthis”.

get through wealth disappears as soon as wealth disappears but
what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you."MORE
