He who stood by the side of Muhammad (p)…

At the time of the Prophet (p) there stood a light,
Who was generous and kind yet was full of might.
by the side of Mohammed (p) he stood, this brave young boy,
And whom against all the armies they would deploy.
The man who won at Khayber, Khandaq and Badr too,
Who showed ikhlaaq to the young, the old, to the Jew.
Ali Ibn Abi Talib (p), the first Imam,
Who never did a thing that was haraam.
Husband of Fatima (p), father of Al-Hasan (p) and Hussain (p),
Who during his life experienced trouble, strife and pain.
He who was martyred in Kufa facing Allah - the One,
He who martyred before his salaat was done.
He about whom the prophet (p) said,
"I am the city of knowledge and Ali is its gate."

disappears but what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you."
