Quotes from Ziarat Nahi’yah By: Miqdad Al-Awsat Imam-e-Zamanah (PBUH) addresses Imam Hussein (PBUH) in some part of this Ziarat as follows: You were the son of the prophet (PBUH), the evidence of Quran, the power of Islam community, the one who was steadfast in worshipping Allah, the one who kept the divine contract, the one who avoided the sinful manner, the one who granted to the poor whenever they needed, and the one who had long bending and prostrations. However, the cruelty began, and the brutal showed themselves and the ignorance called its followers against you even when you were living beside the holy shrine of your ancestor and avoided the delights of the world, and you forbade the sinful acts with your tongue and with your heart as far as you could. Then your knowledge made you deny them clearly and fought them. So you moved with your family and followers and stated the right way and invited the people to accept the divine way and recommended the lawful and forbade the sinful acts, but they stood against you cruelly. So you fought them after you reminded them of the rights. But they were not loyal to you and began the war against you. You stood against their sharp tongues and their sharp swords. You killed many of them with Zulfiqar just like it is Ali (PBUH) who is fighting. When they found you assured and courageous, mocked you. That cursed man ordered his followers to make a barrier between you and the water and then fight you. They rushed in fight with you and injured you with stones and arrows and in order to make you surrender, they did dishonor you. They killed your followers and arrogated your property. But you stood all these harm and injuries so that the angels of the skies became wonderful of your patience. Then your enemies attacked you and made you powerless of the injuries and did not leave you until the night. At that time, you had no aid but you were patient and knew that all was for Allah. You defend your wives and friends until they overthrew you from your horse. You turned upside down with an injured body and their horses smashed you under their hoof. Then, the enemies came to you with their sharp swords. Your forehead became wet of death perspiration, and you pulled yourself to the right and to the left (you were rolling on the ground). You looked at your camps and while you were considering yourself, your horse escaped towards the camps while it was crying loudly. When your family saw your horse and your overthrown saddle on it, rushed out of the camps. They cried loudly and slapped on their faces. END |
