Imam Sadeq (as)’s martyrdom day observed in Iraq

HOLY CITY OF NAJAF, Iraq: Marking the martyrdom anniversary of Holy Prophet (p)’s 6th infallible successor Al-Imam Ja’far As-Sadeq (p) on Sheval 25, huge mourning gatherings were held at the holy shrines housed in the holy land of Iraq.

Throngs of mourners visited the shrines of Al-Imam Ali (p) in the holy city of Najaf, Al-Imam Al-Hussain (p) and his brother Hazrat Abbas (p) in the holy city of Karbala, Al-Imam Al-Kazim (p) and Al-Imam At-Taqi (p) in the holy city of Kazmayn, Al-Imam An-Naqi (p) and Al-Imam Al-Askeri (p) in Samra, to extend their condolences to the holy family of Prophet (p). They recited dirges and performed chest and head beating.

Majeles were also organized at the offices of different marajay attended by large number of people. The speakers threw light on the role of Al-Imam As-Sadeq (p) in disseminating knowledge and laying foundation of grand University. Later, aza and mosibah of the Imam (p) was described.
