Anti-US terrorism march held in Baghdad By: Hamoud Kufi BAGHDAD, Iraq: Iraqi people staged a demonstration on Friday in central Baghdad to protest against terrorism and military strikes on Iraqis, reports said. According to reports thousands participated the demonstration while holding anti-terrorism banners and placards. They chanted slogans condemning strikes and firing by US occupying forces against Iraqi people.
Dozens of children aged five to 10 carrying flowers led the protest under white banners painted in red letters declaring “children innocent, victims of terrorism,” and “terrorism blocks any future for children”. Organizer Sabih Hassan said they (children) had all “become orphans because of terrorism”. Last week, dozens of unarmed Iraqi visitors to the holy Shrines of Imamain Askariyain (peace be on them) in the holy city of Samra were martyred by US forces firing. During the incident, harm was also caused to the holy shrines. END |
