Najaf Marjaiyah demand must be obeyed, Saudi scholar By: Abdulali AL-QATEEF, Saudi Arabia: Saudi religious scholar Al-Allamah Sheikh Hasan Mousa As-Saffar has condemned US forces for bloody clashes in the holy city of Najaf and also Moqtada As-Sadr’s militias for turning sacred sites into battlefield. In his remarks made Friday, 13 August, As-Saffar said resistance to American occupation is required but Haideri Shrine is not a place to be used for fighting against US forces. He supported the stance of Marjaiyah Ad-Diniyah in Najaf that all fighters quit the holy city forthwith, adding that some sides do not pay heed to Marjaiyah resulting in the sacrilege of the holiest city and sites and killings of hundreds. He said the demand of Najaf Marjaiyah must be complied with. As-Saffar highlighted how Imam Hussein (pbuh), grandson of holy Prophet Muhammad bin Abdellah (pbuh&hp) changed his Hajj to Umrah just to save the sanctity of the holy city of Mecca when he came to know the plans of Yazid to trample the honor of the City of Prophet murdering him in the holy city. And contrary to Imam Hussein (pbuh)’s stance was that of Abdallah Bin Al-Zubair who took refuge in the Holy House and became the cause of violation of the house sanctity, and the bombardment of the Holy Kaaba with the catapult from Hajjaj Bin Yousef Al-Thaqafi who came with his army at the orders of Abdul-Malik Ibn-Marwan, and the battle was fought in the Holy House compound killing Ibn Al-Zubair in the middle of the house. As-Saffar said a believer is under obligation to respect sacred places and he does not give a chance to the enemy for its violation. END |
