By: Salman Alvi

RAWALPINDI: An important meeting of the Central Ashra-e-Mawaddat Committee of the TNFJ formed to organise programmes of the Ashra-e-Mawaddat from 1-10 Rajab as announced by Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi, chief of the Tehreek Nafaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafariya, Pakistan was held under the chairmanship of Convener Abbas Kazmi.

During the meeting, conveners were nominated for Federal Capital Islamabad and all the four provinces including Northern Areas and Azad Kashmir as well as outside Pakistan.

Addressing the meeting, Abbas Kazmi said Majalis, Mahafil, conferences, seminars and other functions will be organised during the Ashra-e-Mawaddat so as to highlight the seerat and character of Mashaheer-e-Deen and Shariat and to pay homage and mawaddat to the holy family of Muhammad (SAW) and Aal-e-Muhammad (A.S.).

He said the Ashra-e-Mawaddat would begin from Wednesday, Rajab 1 marking the scented occasion of birth anniversary of fifth descendant of Family of Mawaddat, inheritor of Uloom-e-Ambia and Mursaleen Hazrat Imam Muhammad Baqir bin Ali bin Al-Hussain (A.S.) who lit great candles of knowledge and awareness that are enlightened like moon and the sun on the sky of knowledge.

Abbas Kazmi said the basis of oppression, brutality, suppression and terrorism is illiteracy and ignorance while knowledge and awareness are the foundations of the religion and Shariat. He said the world of humanity was confronted with worst terrorism today and it is necessary to achieve knowledge to root it out because the more knowledge would be the more an end to darkness would be achieved.

A resolution presented by Secretary of the Central Ashra-e-Mawaddat Committee, Khurram Shahzad Haideri was unanimously approved. The resolution strongly condemned the siege of holiest city of the world Najaf-e-Ashraf that is also called Baab Madina-tul-Ilm (Gate to the City of Knowledge) by the colonial forces, and denouncing the massacre and incidents of desecration going on there, it demanded an immediate end to such activities and pullout of allied forces from the Iraqi soil, and urged the need of ensuring the protection, honour and dignity of holy places, Maraje Uzzam, and Iraqi people.

In this connection it was demanded from the international organisations including the United Nations to fulfil their responsibilities. The resolution welcomed the statement of the Spokesman of the Government of Pakistan and the resolution adopted by the National Assembly in connection with the honour and dignity of the Najaf-e-Ashraf. Another resolution demanded from the government to take effective steps to improve the law and order situation further during the Ashra-e-Mawaddat and also advised the people to remain alert themselves.

"Knowledge is better than wealth because it protects you while you have to guard wealth. it decreases if you keep on spending it but the more you make use of knowledge ,the more it increases . what you get through wealth disappears as soon as wealth disappears but what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you."
