Al-Hakim holds pre-polls talks with Turkish leaders By: Sultan Ahmed ANKARA, Turkey: Head of Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution in Iraq Sayyed Abdul Aziz Al-Hakim held pre-election talks with Turkish leaders in Ankara on Tuesday. During talks with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Abdullah Gül, Al-Hakim shared Ankara’s concerns over a possible delay of local elections slated to take place simultaneously with the parliamentary elections in Kirkuk, an oil-rich city in the north with an ethnically mixed population. Al-Hakim arrived in Turkey on Monday after wrapping up talks in the Syrian capital city of Damascus. END |
