Holy Karbala shrine attack condemned By: Ismail Zabeeh HOLY KARBALA, Iraq: Bloody Wednesday attack at the western gate of the holy shrine of Al-Imam Al-Hussein bin Ali bin Abi Talib (p) in the holy city of Karbala has drawn severe condemnation. Rabta tol Ulemaa in Iraq issued a statement in which it denounced the bomb blast in the city of Al-Imam Abi Abdellah Al-Hussein (p) that targeted scores of innocent pilgrims as well as a representative of Ayatullah Sayyed Ali As-Sistani, Sheikh Mehdi Al-Karbalayi. It termed the targeting of Sheikh Mehdi Al-Karbalayi tantamount to targeting Al-Marjaiyah Ad-Diniyah. It demanded from the government to fulfill its duty and take responsibility of protection of holy shrines urging Iraqi people to thwart conspiracies aimed at creating rift among them. Ayatullah Sayyed Taqi Al-Modarresi also condemned the attack. END |
