Pak, Turk hostages released in Iraq By: Hamoud Kufi BAGHDAD, Iraq: Hours after the release of two Turkish hostages, a Pakistani driver Amjad Hafeez who was taken hostage in Iraq has been freed. Pakistan's information minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed told The Associated Press on Friday. He said Amjad Hafeez had contacted his family in Pakistan to tell them that he was safe, and already in Kuwait. “It is good news, and we welcome his release,” the information minister said. END |
