US forces desecrate Samra shrine, quit Karbala; fury sparked By: Ismail Zabeeh HOLY CITY OF SAMRA, Iraq: The Us occupation forces on Monday desecrated the holy shrine of Al-Imam Ali An-Naqi Al-Hadi (peace be on him), the tenth infallible descendant of holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him & his pure progeny), in the holy city of Samra. According to details the wall of the holy mausoleum collapsed in part after the American fighter planes raided the holy city on Monday. Al-Iraqiya TV network aired images of ruins of the wall and announced that ‘a number of Iraqi civilians were also killed or injured,’ Iran’s IRIB quoted. Six months back, US-led forces had attacked the holy shrines of Imamain Askariyain (peace be on them) in the holy city of Samra resulting in damage to the shrine and martyrdom of several pilgrims. American forces have also desecrated the holy shrines of Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (peace be on him), Al-Imam Hussein (peace be on him) and Hazrat Al-Abbas (peace be on him) in past months. In another development, US forces have begun pulling out from the holy city of Karbala as a part of preparations for the June 30 power handover. Muslims across the world have been demanding immediate withdrawal of US forces from the holy cities of Iraq. END |
