Al-Hakim urges need of following directions of Marjaiyah By: Hamoud Kufi BAGHDAD, Iraq: Chairman Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution in Iraq and member US-backed governing council Sayyed Abdul Aziz Al-Hakim said no one can bear desecration of holy cities of Najaf and Karbala and remain silent on violation of sanctity of these sacred sites. He made his remarks in a statement soon after the holy shrine of Al-Imam Ali (peace be on him), cousin and son-in-law of holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him & his pure progeny), suffered damage, sparking fury in Muslims. Al-Hakim, who is son of grand marjay of Shiite world Ayatullah Sayyed Mohsin Al-Hakim (late), said the profaning of the holy shrine came after firing on the houses and offices of Marajay Ozzam as well as citizens, and massacre of civilians. He said: “We strongly denounce these criminal acts that touch the sanctity of these cities and their sanctuaries and the innocents present therein. We call on all for the necessity of continuation of work for the sake of calming the matters keeping in view the holiness of these cities.” Al-Hakim urged the need of following the directions of the steadfast and patient Marjaiyah Ad-Diniyah (religious authority).
