15 Ramadan celebrations at Prophet Idris, companion Kumayl tombs By: Hamoud Kufi BAGHDAD, Iraq: Special festive gathering to mark the birth anniversary of Al-Imam Al-Hasan Al-Mujtaba (a.s.), holy Prophet (s.w.)’s grandson and Chief of the Youths of Paradise, were held at the holy mausoleums of Prophet Idris (a.s.) and Imam Ali (a.s.)’s companion Kumayl bin Zyad (r.a.) in Iraq on 15 Ramadan. Shiite Endowment organized a huge festival at Prophet Idris (a.s.) mausoleum in Al-Karadah region, Baghdad. Custodian of the shrine Abbas Az-Zebeidi welcomed the guests. Addressing the festival, Az-Zebeidi said we had been deprived of such celebrations under the dictatorial regime of Saddam. General Manager of Islamic relations and media headquarters Dr Salah Salem Abdor Razzaq addressed a highlighted virtues and character of Al-Imam Al-Hasan (a.s.) from his birth to martyrdom as well as status of the Imam (a.s.) in light of Quranic Verses and Traditions of Holy Prophet (s.w.). He urged the need of following the path of Ahlol Beit (a.s.) and sticking to them (a.s.) to overcome problems being faced by the Iraqi nation. Religious, scholarly, social and political figures besides large number of believers attended the festival. A similar festive ceremony to mark the occasion was held at the shrine of Al-Imam Ali (a.s.)’s companion Kumayl bin Zyad (r.a), 1200 kilometers east of the holy shrine of Al-Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (a.s.) in Holy Najaf. Holy Najaf governor Adnan Az-Zorfi, Holy Najaf Police Chief Ghaleb Al-Jazaeri, senior officials and residents of Holy Najaf attended. Iraq’s Vice President and top official of Hezb Ad-Dawah Al-Islamia DR Ibrahim Al-Ja’fri addressed. Later iftar dinner was served. END |
