Holy Karbala: Millions renew pledges to Imam Al-Asr (p)

HOLY CITY OF KARBALA, Iraq: Millions of devotees, congregated in Holy Karbala from across Iraq and other countries for Zyarah Ash-Shabaniyah, renewed their pledges of allegiance to Imam of the Era, Imam Al-Asr Muhammad b. Hassan Al-Mehdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance).

Throughout the fifteenth night of Shaban, devotees remained engaged in worship at the holy Shrines of Imam Al-Hussein (peace be on him) and his brother Al-Abbas (peace be on him) as well as Maqam Al-Imam Al-Asr (Site of the Imam of Era).

According to traditions, the best deed of the fifteenth night – the night of glory and excellence, the night in which Allah does not return any seeker empty handed, the night which achieved more excellence with the birth of Imam Al-Mehdi therein – is Zyarah (visit) of Chief of Martyrs, Leader of Youths of Paradise and grandson of Chief of Messengers and Prophets, Al-Imam Al-Hussein bin Ali bin Abi Talib (peace be on him).

Al-Imam Zain Al-Abedeen (peace be on him) said that he who desires to shake hand with the souls of one lakh and 24 thousand prophets, should perform zyarah of Al-Imam Al-Hussein (peace be on him) on fifteenth of Shaban.
