Karbala hosts cultural programs marking Shaban

HOLY CITY OF KARBALA., Iraq: Marking the blessed month of Shaban and birth anniversaries of heroes of Karbala as well as of the Imam of Era Al-Imam Muhammad bin Hasan Al-Hujjah (peace be upon him), the holy city of Karbala witnesses a number of scientific and cultural movements that include establishment of exhibitions, cultural symposiums, cultural forums and scientific sessions and lectures.

Kaf Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) Organization with the cooperation of offices of Grand Maraje and cultural foundations, set up first an annual media cultural forum.

The 15-day (Shaban 1-15) exhibition includes sale of books, religious, cultural and social magazines, laser discs that present religious lectures and computer programs, and cassettes.

A number of Maraje offices representing Ayatullah Sayyed As-Sistani, Ayatullah Sayyed Shirazi, Ayatullah Al-Modarresi, Ayatullah Al-Haeri, Ayatullah As-Sadr participate in this cultural gathering besides contribution of different foundations and cultural centers such as Al-Qa’em Foundation, Information office for Holy Hussaini Shrine, and future for computers Foundation.

The exhibition, which is being held in the site that lays between the two sanctuaries of Al-Imam Al-Hussain and Al-Abbas (peace be upon them), draws large number of visitors.

A ten-day book exhibition with rare valuable scientific, cultural and literary books is also being held in this holy city at the site between the two holy shrines. Information Committee in the Hussaini Shrine arranged the exhibition which is being participated by various libraries and cultural centers, which publish books, from across Iraq, including Al-Hassam house for printing, spreading and distribution, Al-Mutanabbi library, Al-Hashemi house, Al-Aa`lami foundation for publications, Karbala library, Muslim Ibn Aqil library, Allamah Ibn Fahd Al-Hilli library and Shaheed-ol-Mehrab foundation for Islamic preaching.

The exhibition opened on 3rd Shaban, marking the birth anniversary of Chief of Martyrs Al-Imam Al-Hussain (peace be upon him).

Visitors to the exhibition are also being given gifts of posters in connection with 3rd of Shaban, Mauled-ol-Imam Al-Hussain (peace be upon him).
