By: Ismail Zabeeh

HOLY CITY OF KAZEMIYAH, Iraq: New Zarih for the holy mausoleums of Al-Imam Mousa b. Ja’far Al-Kazem (AS) and his grandson Al-Imam Muhammad Taqi Al-Jawwad (AS), which reached in the holy city of Kazemiyah on Thursday April 14, was given a devoted fervent warm welcome.

People of Kazemiyah and other cities, scholars, clerics, chieftains, tribal leaders, dignitaries, notabilities and representatives of Grand Marajay massed at the streets of this holy city to welcome the procession, which brought the new zarih with great honor and respect from Iran, holding traditional and religious reception rituals, reciting salawat (benediction for the holy Prophet and his holy progeny) – allahomma salli ala Muhammadinn va aali Muhammad – and distributing sweetmeats and candies.

Hands of chosen skilled Iranian artisans in the city of Isfahan have made the holy zarih which was received by people of Kazemiyah and custodians of the holy shrine of Al-Imam Mousa Al-Kazem (AS) and Al-Imam Taqi Al-Jawwad (AS).

Hojja-tol Islam Sayyed Ibrahim Lajvardy, one of the officials of office of Grand Marjay Ayatullah Sayyed Ali As-Sistani in the holy city of Qom, said delivery of the zarih, which making completed two decades back, was delayed owing to Iran-Iraq war.

He said this day the delivery to the holy city of Kzemiyah that is home to the holy shrines of Imamain Jawwadayn (AS) became possible courtesy to cooperation of the two neighboring countries and Grand Marajay including Ayatullah As-Sistani.

Tons of silver and several kilograms of gold were used in its creation.

Fixation of this zarih will take place by Iranian proficient experts during one-month period.

Sayyed Lajvardy said the convoy also brought scores of handmade superior carpets, knitted in Tabrez, as well as fine stones that have been gifted to the holy shrine of Al-Imam Al-Kazem (AS) and Al-Imam Al-Jawwad (AS) in Kazemiyah from the people of Tabrez.

The zarih was delivered through Mehran Ilam route. Marking the occasion, a ceremony was held in Mehran border city attended by large number of religious scholars and Friday prayer leaders in Ilam and Mehran cities.

It is worth-noting that the holy shrine of Imamain Jawwadayn (AS) was deliberately neglected by the ousted Saddam regime throughout its rule despite large amount of money which was routinely collected from the holy zarih by the former ministry of endowment.
