HOLY CITY OF NAJAF, Iraq: Sayyed Abdul Aziz Al-Hakim, head of Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution in Iraq, has extended felicitations to Iraqi nation, Muslims the world over and all devotees of heavenly prophets on the beginning of ‘Week of Love and Devotion’ (12-17 Raby-ol Oola) marking the birthday of Ar-Rasul Al-Azam Muhammad b. Abdullah (p) and his sixth infallible descendant Al-Imam Jafar As-Sadiq (p).

In a special message issued on the auspicious occasion, Sayyed Al-Hakim who is the son of late Grand Marjay (top religious authority) of Shiia World Sayyed Mohsin Al-Hakim, said that with the extent of our happiness during these auspicious days our hearts and hearts of Iraq’s patient nation are filled with pain and grief because of terrorism continued across the country and particularly what happened in tolerant oppressed Al-Madain.

During the blessed days of birth anniversary of holy Prophet (p), enemies of Allah, His Prophet (p) and followers of Ahlul Bayt (p) stood for massacre of believers after torturing them brutally and threw their pure bodies in River Tigris, bombed mosques and husseiniyaat, killed scholars and forced their families to migrate in a bid to fan sectarianism and turn Al-Madain into another base for terrorists.

What increased the grief of our Iraqi nation is behavior of Iraq government Security institutions as well as neglecting voices of the people of oppressed city – Al-Madain – , overlooking pictures of victims whose dead bodies were later taken out from Tigris River in As-Sawayrah, destruction of Ar-Rasol Al-Azam (p) Mosque and Husseiniyah, and role of some Arabic channels in flaring religious clashes.

Sayyed Al-Hakim called on all Iraqis to remain vigilant and thwart conspiracies of creating rift among them and flaring sectarianism through their unity.

Once again we greet our people and the whole Muslim world on the occasion of birth anniversary of holy Prophet (p) and start of ‘Week of Love and Devotion’, console the oppressed bereaved families and pray Allah to show mercy on our martyrs and resuurect them with the holy Prophet Muhammad (p) and his holy progeny (p), the message concluded.
