By: Ismail Zabeeh

HOLY CITY OF NAJAF, Iraq: The holy Haydari shrine in the holy city of Najaf is closed for the fifth continuous day in protest against desecration of its dignity at the hands of followers of Moqtada As-Sadr, Al-Najaf news reported.

Gates of the sacred shrine were shut on Friday until the violators and perpetrators of this great oppression would not repent and say sorry openly in the respected court of the holy shrine.

According to Al-Najaf news the holy shrine was desecrated during funeral of those dead in deadly clashes in this holy city that erupted late Wednesday.

The funeral participants on reaching at the holy shrine compound, went on rampage, broke glass windows of shopping centers and hotels near the mausoleum, tried to attack the shrine and used abusive language against Holy Najaf residents and those at service of the Haydari mausoleum.

Viewing the sensitive situation, holy compound protection force expelled the violent people of Sadr from the sacred shrine shutting its gates. But as the gates were closed, the violent mob desecrated the dignity of Alawi shrine with throwing stones and Na’al at the holy gates of the sacred shrine of Maula Al-Mottaqeen, Sayyed Al-Wasiyyeen Al-Imam Ali (p) – Baab Medina-tol Ilm (Gate of the City of Knowledge).

Meanwhile, the investigation committee that was formed on demand of Prime Minister Dr Ibrahim Al-Jafari to probe into the Holy Najaf tragic incident has found pictures that caught scenes of aggression and sacrilege of the sacred compound as the cameras were fixed in special sites outside the compound to catch the scenes.
