By: Ismail Zabeeh
HOLY NAJAF, Iraq: Preparations to receive devotees at the holy
mausoleums of Al-Imam Al-Hussein (A.S.) and Hadhrat Abu-Al Fadhl Al-Abbas
(A.S.) in the holy city of Karbala during the month of Rajab Al-Morajjab
– the seventh lunar month – are on peak.

The month of Rajab is one of four dignified months, and the holy
Prophet (S.W.) said it is great month. Even ignorant people were used
to respect it in the period of ignorance. It is the month of Amir-ol
Mo’mineen Al-Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (A.S.) as Sha’ban is Holy Prophet
(S.W.)’s and Ramadhan is Allah’s.
There is a saying of Al-Imam Abi Al-Hassan (A.S.) regarding worth of
Rajab that Rajab is a river in heaven, whiter than milk and sweeter
than honey, he who keeps fast in a day of this month, Allah will give
him drink from its water. Its first night is one of four nights about
which traditions stress that worship should be revived therein, and
the mid of this month is most favorite to Allah. This month is
significant as there comes the birthdays of A’immah Al-Masumeen (A.S.)
as well as 27th of this month is Mab’ath Day of Holy Prophet (S.W.) –
the day when holy Prophet (S.W.) declared his prophethood, the day of
appearance of mercy.

The most important amal (deed) of this month is visitation to Al-Imam
Al-Hussein (A.S.) on its first and 15th day.
The holy shrines, streets and buildings are being decorated with
colorful lights, lamps and fresh flowers marking the auspicious month.

"Knowledge is
better than wealth because it protects you while you have to
guard wealth. it decreases if you keep on spending it but the
more you make use of knowledge ,the more it increases . what you
get through wealth disappears as soon as wealth disappears but
what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you."MORE
