HOLY CITY OF NAJAF, Iraq: People of holy city of Najaf, home to the holy shrine of Imam Ali (p), have prepared a big file to present before special criminal court set up to trial dictator Saddam and his aides for their crimes against humanity which they committed in this holy city during his 35-year regime.

A source in the court in the Holy Najaf says the court received more than three thousand complaints to-date recorded in the center of crimes against humanity in Holy Karbala, Divaniyah, Hilla and Holy Najaf.

The investigation judge has assured that gates of the court will remain open for the citizens to put up their complaints against Saddam and his companions.

Saddam killed hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis including Grand Maraje’, Ayaat, religious scholars, doctors, engineers, lawyers, women and infants during is regime.

Holy Najaf – city of the gate of Knowledge - suffered much under Saddam and now enjoys a religious revival under relative peace.

The Valley of Peace in this city has been wounded by this US-led war and by the past regime. Saddam demolished tombstones and paved roads over buried corpses.
