Karbala aza march demands Baqee rebuilding, airports in holy cities

HOLY KARBALA/ BASRA, Iraq: A massive husseini mourning procession was taken out in the holy city of Karbala to mark the anniversary of martyrdom of sixth infallible imam from Ahl-el Beit (p), Al-Imam Jafer As-Sadiq (p) on Monday Shawal 25, November 27.

Several husseini organizations, corps and associations from Karbala and other Iraqi cities participated in the procession that was led by Sadah from the progeny of holy Prophet (p), Ayaat, religious scholars, speakers, tribal chiefs, elite and leaders of husseini organizations while carrying replica coffin of Al-Imam As-Sadeq (p).
The procession culminated at the holy shrines of Al-Imam Al-Hussein (p) and his brother Al-Abbas (p).

Addressing the procession participants, speakers offered their condolences marking the occasion to the Ummah Islamiah and demanded reconstruction of Al-Baqee` graves to honour signs of Allah. They also asked the Iraqi government to build special airports and railway lines in the holy cities to facilitate pilgrims as well as open gate of ziarah of holy shrines in Iraq, and make new ministry for affairs of zaireen on pattern of ministry of hajj in some countries. They urged the need of following in the footsteps of Ahl-el Beit (p).

Later dinner was served.

In Basra, Al-Imam As-Sadiq (p) organization organized a mourning gathering. Husseini elegy chanters Hazim Al-Basari and Fakher Hussein recited elegies while the mourners were carrying replica coffin of the Imam (p) on their shoulders.
