Ashoura security plan in holy Karbala

HOLY CITY OF KARALA, Iraq: Governor of the holy city of Karbala Sa’ad Al-Masoudi has announced a security plan marking Ashoura observation.

Al-Masoudi said all entrances and doorways of Karbala will be locked from February 14 while traffic movement will be stopped inside the holy city from February 16.

Several millions are expected to descend at the holy city of Karbala that houses the holy shrines of Al-Imam Al-Hussein (p) and his brother Al-Abbas (p) to mark Ashoura – 10th of Muharram.

Last year on Ashoura, 271 Husseini mourners were martyred in terror bombings in the holy city of Karbala and Kazemiyah.
