HOLY KARBALA, Iraq: Grand spiritual gatherings of Majales Al-Aza and Al-Mawakeb Al-Azaiyah were witnessed across Iraq particularly in the holy cities of Najaf, Karbala, Kazemiyah and Samara in connection with Al-Fatemiyah Ath-Thaniyah commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Holy Prophet (p)’s daughter Fatemah Az-Zahraa Al-Batoul (p).

Addressing the majales, speakers and scholars highlighted importance of observing these days which is in fact revival of Signs of Allah. They asserted key to success of the Islamic World is hidden in sticking to Ahl-ol Bayt (p) and asking Al-Aimmah Al-Masumein (p)’s intercession.

They threw light on the pious life of As-Sayyedah Az-Zahraa (p) and her role in supporting foundations of Islam terming her seerah a best example to follow. They said that it’s obligatory upon us to observe this heartrending occasion as “Ashura Ath-Thaniyah”, or the second Ashura.

In holy Karbala, masses of black-dressed mourners participated in the mourning processions that culminated at the holy shrines of Al-Imam Al-Hussein (p) and Al-Abbas (p) after touching through the streets of this holy city.

While beating drums, chanting elegies and slogans ‘Ya Zahraa … Ya Zahraa’ and pounding chests and heads to signify their deep grief on the martyrdom of spouse of Al-Imam Ali (p), mother of Al-Imam Al-Hassan (p) and Al-Imam Al-Hussein (p), Mistress of the Women of World Fatemah Az-Zahra (p), the mourners extended their condolence to holy Prophet Muhammad Al-Mostafa (p) and his pure progeny (p) marking this painful occasion and great suffering.
