Al-Hakim son: Iraqi govt of all a serious blow to terrorism

ISTANBUL, Turkey: Visiting Ammar Al-Hakim, Son of chairman Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution in Iraq who heads winner bloc in Iraq’s land mark Jan 30 elections United Iraqi Alliance Sayyed Abdul Aziz Al-Hakim, said formation of an Iraqi government that represents all sects and ethnicities will be a serious blow to terrorism.

Al-Hakim, who arrived in Turkey on Tuesday, met Selahattin Ozgunduz of the Turkish Caferis at Zeynebiye Mosque of Istanbul.

Speaking at a news conference here, Al-Hakim told journalists: “'We are firmly determined to develop our ties with Turkey, as the new Iraqi government.”

Asked about the attacks by terrorists, Ammar Al-Hakim said celebration by some groups after such attacks do not portray the real identity or character of Muslims. Such attacks are designed to increase tension between the Shias and Sunnis in Iraq.

He said the silence of some neighboring countries vis-a-vis such attacks is extremely sad. Both the Sunni and Shia brethren of Iraq are working together to establish the future of Iraq.'
