HOLY KARBALA, Iraq: Millions of devotees were celebrating the birth anniversaries of heroes of Karbala namely Al-Imam Al-Hussein bin Ali (p), Al-Abbas bin Ali (p) and Al-Imam Ali bin Al-Hussein Zayn-ol Abedin (p) in Iraq – the soil of prophets.

Marking these auspicious occasions, holy city of Karbala plus the holy shrines are beautifully decorated with multihued glossy lights, fresh colorful flowers, shiny buntings and lamps, and big banners inscribed with greeting statements. Special reception, exhibition and fair tents have been erected.

Special desserts and foods are being cooked in giant pots, and sweet drinks are being prepared to facilitate millions of devoting pilgrims to the holy Karbala which houses holy mausoleums of Al-Imam Al-Hussein bin Ali (p) and Al-Abbas bin Ali (p) as well as “Tilla-e-Zaynabiyah”.

Magnificent spiritual gatherings and festivals are also being held at the holy shrines and several other venues to extend greetings to the holy Prophet (p) and his Ahl-ol Bayt (p) on the birth anniversaries of heroes of Karbala. Speakers strongly condemn ongoing terrorism in the country.

Devotees also perform a’mal of the days and nights – special prayers, supplications and zyarah – at the sacred mausoleums.
