By: Ismail Zabeeh

BAGHDAD, Iraq: At least 75 Iraqi worshippers have been martyred and more than 160 injured when two suicide attackers wearing women's robes blew themselves up Friday in Baratha mosque in northern Baghdad.

The attack, which occurred as worshippers were leaving after Friday prayers, caused severe damage to the historic mosque.

Rescuers carried the bodies from the mosque compound on makeshift wooden wheelbarrows and loaded them on the backs of pickup trucks.

Historic perspective of Al-Baratha mosque

Al-Baratha mosque, which receives some 4,000 pilgrims daily, is a sacred place in sight of Muslims and Christians as well.
Al-Baratha Mosque is housed at a distance of five kilometers from the holy shrine of Al-Imamayn Mousa Al-Kazem and Muhammad Taqi Al-Jawwad (peace be upon them) in Kazemiyah, Iraq.
