AL-KAZIMIYAH, Iraq: Hundreds of thousands of mourning devotees have gathered at the holy shrine of Al-Imam Musa bin Jafar Al-Kazim (a.s.) in Al-Kazimiah to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the imam on Sunday August 20, Rajab 25, amid tight security.

Throughout the way to Al-Kazimiyah, mourners, coming to the holy shrine in caravans and individually from across the country, remained chanting “ya imam” and pounding their chests to signify their deep grief marking the occasion.

Meanwhile, an interior ministry source told on 18 August that seven mourning pilgrims of Al-Imam Al-Kazim (a.s.) heading to the holy shrine to observe the anniversary were martyred at the hands of terrorists in Al-Adl area, west of Baghdad.
